The Comet Academy is an alternative classroom that caters to multiple students at Caston. An alternative classroom is very simply a classroom that does not provide a completely traditional learning experience. In The Comet Academy students work on individualized courses at their own pace with one on one help along the way. Students earn high school credits through an online curriculum called Edmentum. This program is filled with various class options, including CTE, and AP courses. Edmentum meets high school and NCAA guidelines. The Comet Academy provides an alternative learning plan for students facing various barriers. This may include students who have fallen behind on credits, students who would like to advance their learning, students with medical issues or students who have remediation needs.
